Modern redesign of a nonprofit organization’s website to amplify its mission, engage donors, and improve access to resources for the community it serves.

Project Overview

The Problem

New Hope Community Bikes aims to help make cycling more accessible through safe cycling education, affordable bike repair services, and programming for all ages. We have observed that our organization’s website does not effectively communicate the community programming aspect of our organization. How might we improve our organization’s website so that we can reach more beneficiaries with our programs?

The Solution

New Hope Community Bikes contributes to the development of a sense of community by serving as a cycling education hub and providing programming, events, and repair services to people of all ages. We believe that by improving the website to bridge the gap between user needs and values of the organization, we will be able to reach more people through our programs, meet their service and repair needs, and achieve long-term sustainable goals.

Research Process

Research Methodology:

Survey questionnaire

  • Create a user survey using Google Forms
  • Distribute a survey to possible participants
  • Conduct user Surveys and collect data
  • Create charts using data results
 

One-on-one interviews with 5 users

  • Prepare the Interview Script for the questions
  • Conduct a total of 5 user interviews & record the answers.
  • Create user interview insight and an Affinity Map
  • Compile work into a User Persona
 

Interview with stakeholder

  • Draft email script for potential stakeholder
  • Send a final draft email to stakeholder
  • Continued correspondence
  • Summarize goals and challenges 
 

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:

Lo-fi clickable wireframe

Objective: using the layouts that were defined while paper prototyping, a lo-fi wireframe was created, while making changes to the design where necessary.

Usability Testing

Main Objective: identify any issues users may encounter while navigating the website using the main menu. 

Other Goals: identify any other pain points related to layout or design that users encounter.
